About me

I was born with a love for horses and got my first pony when I was 5 (and so was the pony).  I got bucked off, dragged and taken off with continuously until I was 8.  Being in 4-H helped a little, but I was petrified and embarrassed and slowly I started to lose interest.

My last summer at home, before college, I worked at a stable, taught lessons, went to shows, and gave trail rides to tourists. It was an emencive education and it made me want to learn more.

Over the years I've ridden and shown western quarter horses, arabs at halter, english hunt seat and pleasure.  3 day eventing became a passion in my early twenties and landed me in Yorkshire England to further my eduction.  That's when I saw my  first musical freestyle and I was mesmerized.

Over the many years since, I have had the most generous oppertunities to train with Richard Shrake, Carol Mcardle, Peter Decosmo,  Jane and Christopher Bartle and their staff at the YRC, Stephan Peters, Henrik Johansen, Robert Dover, Lilo Fore, Christine Trarrig, George Williams,  Juan Matuta, and my dear friend Holger Bechtloff.

I consider riding to be a continuous education and one can never learn "it all" in one lifetime.  Whenever an opportunity arises to further my eduction in any way I jump at the chance.  I encourage you all to do the same no matter what form it comes in.
